Honouring my Father

Reverend Francis RitchieUncategorizedLeave a Comment

In the absence of a father my whole life, today I honour the Father to the fatherless, the one who defends and helps all those who have no man to call ‘father’. He is the Father who adopts all who seek him as he adopted me. He is the one who I have daily called ‘Father’ for almost 14 years now.

Today I reflect the words of Jesus of Nazareth and pray:

Our Father who is in heaven,
holy is your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Provide us with our most basic daily needs.
Forgive us our debts as we also forgive the debts of others.
Keep us safe from the snares of life
and deliver us from evil.
For yours is the Kingdom,
the power and the glory forever.
Amen!

May I daily be an honest reflection of the values, principles and desires of the Father who continues to guide and shape me.
