Pad Thai

Tonight I had my first attempt at making Pad Thai – one of my favourite Thai dishes. You see, I’m a big fan of Thai food and a big fan of noodles, so Pad Thai brings those things together nicely, especially if you can pull off the balance between sweet, sour and salty.

For a first attempt I was pretty happy with it. Clearly I’ve got some work to do and obviously the magic is in getting the noodles right – but I think I had the balance of flavour good enough for my family’s taste-buds.

In the spirit of this blog I should probably come up with something deep and meaningful for which the Pad Thai cooking is an illustration, but I can’t think of anything. Sometimes, attempting to make good food, enjoying the process and then what you’ve put together is just one of those moments in life worth savouring for what it is – a bit of joy; nothing more, nothing less.

Oh, I do need to mention that it’s not my Pad Thai in the image above. I didn’t get any photos of mine. I’ll do that when it looks decent.
