Prelude to Military Intervention in Syria?

The polls are showing the American people don’t want to be directly involved in the Syrian conflict in a military capacity. I’m guessing not many other countries want to be directly involved in such a way either.

Both sides of the conflict are accusing the other of using chemical weapons. Obama seems to be walking a very careful path in terms of public communication around the accusations.

Are we watching the prelude to a western military intervention in Syria via NATO or some other collective?

The Syrian conflict is a humanitarian crisis with both internal refugees and dramatically increasing numbers of cross border refugees straining the ability of receiver countries to provide their basic needs and all humanitarian organisations involved are crying out for help to serve those who desperately need assistance. It’s a full blown disaster. It’s THE disaster of the moment. TEAR Fund’s partners are doing a decent job but the problem keeps growing, stretching those who are responding to their limits.

This conflict is going to have a tipping point one way or the other at some stage, the question is what’s going to make it tip and how many are going to die in the process and who is going to be left with the power once the dust settles and the blood is mopped up?

While world leaders try to navigate the situation and what they should do, take the opportunity to cut through it all and assist those who have lost everything because others, on both sides of the conflict, decided that violence was the way to solve their issues. There are many suffering because of it. Take the chance to stand with TEAR Fund NZ and support those doing something about it.
